The Rother District Council Community Grants Scheme supports grassroots projects that strengthen communities, improve wellbeing, protect the environment, and boost the local economy in Rother. Grants are managed by Sussex Community Foundation on behalf of Rother District Council.

The funding criteria is based on three of the four Sussex Community Foundation funding priorities: Improving Health, Reaching Potential, and Acting on Climate.
Funding will be split between revenue and capital grants:
As part of the Year of the Normans 2027, which marks 1,000 years since the birth of William the Conqueror, we welcome applications that promote local heritage, culture, learning, community participation or tourism through a Norman-themed project.
Please make sure to read the guidance and criteria carefully. If you are planning to apply for a capital grant of over £10,000, we recommend arranging a phone call with our Grants & Relationships Manager, Pete Jones, before making an application.

We recommend reading the Sussex Community Foundation standard guidance which applies to this funding.
Apply now via the Rother District Council Community Grants Scheme application form.
The deadline is 5pm on Friday 16 October 2026. Outcomes will be announced around the week commencing 18 January 2027.
