Westdene Fund.

The Westdene Fund gives grants of up to £1,000 to individual young people (aged 16-25 years) in Sussex with outstanding musical talent.

Grants support a specific activity or object for example: consultation lessons, a masterclass, participation in a National Youth Orchestra, a County music tour, or a contribution to the cost of a better grade instrument.

Please note that this particular fund supports individuals rather than groups.

Who can apply?

The fund supports individual young people who:

  • Are 16+ years old and attend a school or college in Sussex (East and West, or Brighton & Hove)
  • Have secured, or already taken up, a place at a recognised centre of excellence for musical education, or passed Grade 7 in their chosen instrument
  • Can demonstrate a wide and continuing interest in music
  • Intend to pursue a musical career
  • Can demonstrate financial need
