Photo Competition Celebrating ‘Sussex’s vibrant voluntary sector’ open for entries

Entries are now open for our first photo competition celebrating Sussex’s vibrant voluntary sector of inspirational local charities and community groups.

At the Foundation we see and hear examples of the amazing work the voluntary sector is doing across Sussex every day. So, we are delighted to announce the launch of our first photo competition, dedicated to showcasing our voluntary sector here in Sussex.

The competition will show the remarkable work being done by local community groups, and the dedicated staff and volunteers behind them. The winners will be announced to mark Sussex Day on Sunday 16 June.

Entries for the photo competition are now open, and submissions are to be made under each of our four funding priorities. Each category will have one winner, who will receive a £150 donation to support the work of their charity or group.

Our funding priorities are:

  • Tackling Poverty
  • Improving Health
  • Reaching Potential
  • Acting on Climate

“In what continues to be a challenging and uncertain time for many Sussex communities, we have seen how our local charities and community groups have yet again stepped up, taken action and continued to support our most vulnerable. This Sussex Day, we want to continue to celebrate the amazing people, activities and places that are at the heart of our community with our first photo competition.”

Kevin Richmond, CEO Sussex Community Foundation.

The competition not only aims to recognise the outstanding contributions of local charities and community groups but also to celebrate the diversity of causes, organisations, and individuals the Foundation is proud to support.

Join us in celebrating this Sussex Day by shining a light on the positive impact being made in Sussex communities. Find out more about how to apply here.
